Stranger Things season 4: Jim Hopper’s back door escape plan outed in detail you missed

Stranger Things left every viewer emotional in the final episode of season three. After fighting against the Russians and the malevolent forces of the Upside Down for ten episodes, Jim Hopper (played by David Harbour) was killed off by shutting down a generator which opened a portal to the Upside Down.

The generator then exploded, bringing down the facility, and Hopper with it.

Fans were devastated, and instantly began suggesting he had not really been killed off, but transported to the other world.

Then, came the show’s post-credit scene, which featured members of the Russian military talking about a prisoner – The American – who fans soon began suggesting was really Hopper.

However, other fans have begun theorising over how Hopper will return – and it isn’t how one would think.

  • Stranger Things season 4: Hopper’s death ‘confirmed’ by David Harbour?

Viewers think he did survive, but not through jumping through a portal to the Upside Down.

And Reddit user Ritzbitz14 recently voiced this theory, saying: “I think that Hopper was somehow able to get away from the machine and hide from the explosion, before being apprehended by Russians escaping the base.”

The user explained the remaining members of the facility escaped from the base with the help of a back door.

They went on: “The Russians were evacuating the base through some secret exit, a backdoor, if you will, and ran into Hopper on the way.

“This is supported by the fact that when the American Military came storming through the base just minutes after the explosion they were not shown capturing any Russians even though they were running through the heart of the base.

“We also don’t see any captured Russians up in the parking lot where we see lots of military guys and Will and his mother getting reunited.”

This theory does take some suspension of disbelief, but the user added: “It’s obviously possible that the Russians were captured, but why not show that?

“The fact that we don’t see any captured Russians seems like a pretty significant detail.”

This is how the fan believes Hopper went on to get captured by the Russians, and sent to Russia as a prisoner.

They conclude: “After escaping through this backdoor, the Russians and their prisoner managed to get back to Russia and locked Hopper up.”

Could his death have truly been a huge misdirect to see him captured during his escape?

Meanwhile, Hopper star David has recently been speaking out about his character’s death, and has even alluded to him being dead permanently.

  • Stranger Things season 4: Will Byers to become focus of new season?

Speaking at Comic Con in Dortmund, he explained: “I think Hopper — from the very beginning I’ve said this — he’s very lovable in a certain way, but also, he’s kind of a rough guy.

“Certainly in the beginning of season one he’s kind of dark, and he’s drinking, and he’s trying to kill himself, and he hates himself for what happened to his daughter.”

Dramatically, he added: “I feel like, in a sense, that character needed to die.”

‘What you said doesn’t count’ Piers Morgan tears into Hugh Grant over tactical vote plan

Despite usually taking Friday off from Good Morning Britain, Piers Morgan was back on ITV’s screens to discuss the general election result alongside a panel which included Stanley and Rachel Johnson. The GMB host wasted no time in taking a swipe at Steve Coogan and Hugh Grant following their campaign throughout the election to persuade voters to oust Boris Johnson as Prime Minister.

The night before the election Coogan told viewers his character Alan Partridge would vote Tory because he’s “ill-informed” during an appearance on Channel 4 news.

Meanwhile, Grant had spent the election campaign urging people to vote for the Liberal Democrats.

The actor was pictured checking his phone with an unimpressed expression as the exit poll results were announced.

Grant then tweeted: “There goes the neighbourhood.”

  • Boris Johnson: Triumphant Prime Minister hints at marriage to partner

Discussing the actors, Morgan said: “[Grant’s] reaction was ‘There goes the neighbourhood’. Actually, there goes his credibility.

“What we’ve discovered, as Hillary Clinton, celebrities can have the opposite effect. Entitled millionaires telling us our vote doesn’t count.

“I watched Steve Coogan on Channel 4 news I think it was on the day before the election and he was so sneering about Brexiteers called them stupid and thick.

“[He] said his character Alan Partridge was basically like them, ignorant blah blah blah off he went on his little rant and I watched and I thought ‘My god’…”

Interrupting, Susanna Reid asked: “Does that resonate in any way?”

“Imagine if you are a working class northern Labour voter who voted Leave,” Morgan continued.

“Who’s an Alan Partridge fan…,” Reid added.

“You’ve got this multi-millionaire entitled Hollywood brat telling you your vote doesn’t count,” Morgan said.

“Well good morning Mr Coogan it turned out what you said didn’t count good morning Mr Grant it turned out what you said didn’t count.

“In fact if anything you both had the complete opposite effect in getting Boris elected.”

Earlier in the week, Coogan told Channel 4 news: “Well Alan Partridge is ill-informed and ignorant and therefore he’s a Conservative and a Brexiteer.”

He was asked: “So he’d be voting Boris Johnson?”

  • McDonnell admits Corbyn project is OVER as he sets out timetable

“Yes,” Coogan answered. “I think the reason Tories don’t invest as much in education is because they depend on a certain level of ignorance for support.”

With just two seats to be declared, the Conservatives had won 363 seats and Labour had won 203.

Labour suffered huge losses in the general election with leader Jeremy Corbyn confirming he will stand down following the crushing results.

Meanwhile, Lib Deb leader Jo Swinson lost her seat to SNP rival Amy Callaghan.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV on 6am.

Drea Kelly Not Participating in the New Season of Lifetime Docuseries 'Surviving R. Kelly'

Lifetime announced on Wednesday that it would be airing the Surviving R. Kelly Part II: The Reckoning in early 2020, but the follow-up to the network’s bombshell docuseries will not feature the embattled singer’s former wife, Drea Kelly.

The new special, airing in three parts on Jan. 2, 3 and 4, will examine the impact of the original series, which was first broadcast in January 2019. In addition, it will also provide an update on the lengthy list of R. Kelly‘s legal battles, which have spread across multiple states.

However, soon after news of the sequel became public, Drea — who leveled numerous allegations of abuse against her ex husband in the initial season — revealed that she will not be appearing in the program.

“It was brought to Drea Kelly’s attention that [Surviving R. Kelly Part II] promotions, along with the introduction and various segments of the series portrays the likeness of Ms. Kelly despite her adamant requests and refusal to participate in said production,” her representative said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE. “Ms. Kelly fears that it may mislead audiences to believe she was a full participant in the follow-up series. The history and actions that took place before, during and after the filming of the first documentary led Ms. Kelly to decline participating on numerous occasions, including as recent as June of this year.”

The statement goes on to outline Drea’s reasons for her refusal to participate, including accusations that the production company reached out to her “children, immediate family members & associates, despite her request not to do so,” lacked “emotional support and conflict resolution assistance” for some of the on-film survivors, failed to provide proper aftercare and support for the survivors, and inadequate “security throughout the scope of the documentary’s screening and promotional tours.” (An early New York screening of Surviving R. Kelly last December was evacuated after shooting threats.)

Later on Wednesday afternoon , Lisa Van Allen, who also voiced accusations against Kelly in Surviving R. Kelly, shared a statement on Instagram denying her involvement in the second season despite claims that producers had used “used old footage of me” in new promotional materials.

Representatives for Lifetime have declined PEOPLE’s request for comment.

R. Kelly.

Surviving R. Kelly featured wide-ranging interviews with Kelly’s family members, former friends and colleagues and most notably, the women who claimed that for decades the hit-making singer and producer used his power and influence to sexually and physically abuse women and young girls. (Kelly’s camp have repeatedly denied these claims.)

At the time of last year’s premiere, Drea — who also spoke out against Kelly in June 2018 — detailed the alleged abuse she suffered at his hand in an interview with PEOPLE.

“He was like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, he really was,” said Drea, now 45, who first met Kelly at age 19. “I started as a dancer. He was my boss. We weren’t allowed to talk to the other dancers or other artists on tour. We had to walk in a straight line, be in your room at a certain time. I’m like, ‘Okay, he runs a tight ship.’ Never looked at it as controlling.”

After falling in love she said he proposed and secretly arranged their wedding, which none of their friends or family attended. Then says Drea, came the abuse. “It started with yelling and being slapped and grabbed. He chips away at your self-esteem, your ability to even think. You’re just thinking, ‘What do I do to not piss him off?'”

During their marriage, Drea said she and her children also had to deal with the effects of Kelly’s scandals. In 2002, R. Kelly was indicted after a video surfaced showing a man engaged in lurid sex acts with a woman who some witnesses testified was 14 at the time of the recording. Both R. Kelly and the 14-year-old denied it was them and R. Kelly was never charged with assault. In 2008, R. Kelly was found not guilty after being indicted with 21 counts of child pornography.

The accusations took a toll on their whole family. “My children have had to deal with kids telling them, ‘Your daddy is the guy who peed on people,'” she told PEOPLE, “and it’s ongoing.”

Recalling her breaking point, Drea said, “At the time I didn’t know there was such a thing as spousal rape. He’d tried to lock me in the bathroom. I remember being ready to jump off the balcony of our hotel suite and commit suicide. Thank God I didn’t. After that I said, ‘I’m done.’ In 2004 I called my dad, packed my bags and left with our kids in the night.”

She finalized her divorce from Kelly in 2009 and obtained custody of their children. In his song “I admit” released this past summer, Kelly denies mounting accusations and sings “Ain’t seen my kids in years.”

Drea Kelly

The follow up docuseries will feature several woman who came forward in the original, including Jerhonda Pace and Kitti Jones, as well as figures like investigative journalist Jim DeRogatis, State’s Attorney for Cook County Kimberly Foxx, #MeToo Founder Tarana Burke, and Michael Avenatti —   a lawyer who represents a number of Kelly’s accusers.

Lucifer season 5: Will Ella find out that Lucifer is really the devil?

Lucifer season five will be the final series of the supernatural comedy-drama. Tom Ellis stars as the fallen angel, Lucifer Morningstar and at the end of season four, he returned to hell to become its ruler. In season five, Lucifer comes back to Earth but will he finally show Ella Lopez (played by Aimee Garcia) his devil face?

During the past four seasons, Lucifer has been very open about his true identity as the fallen angel, Lucifer Morningstar.

However, nobody in his inner circle believes him, apart from his brother Amendiel (DB Woodside), who is also an angel, and his friend Maze (Lesley Ann-Brandt) who is a demon.

It was not until the end of season three that Lucifer’s love interest, Chloe Decker (Lauren German) learned of his true identity.

Throughout season four, Lucifer continuously told his colleague and close friend LAPD forensic scientist, Ella Lopez, that he was in the devil but inevitably, she never believed him.

  • Lucifer season 5: Ella Lopez’ reaction to the real devil revealed

Actress Aimee Garcia who plays Ella Lopez spoke to Entertainment Tonight about Ella and Lucifer’s relationship in the fifth and final season.

Garcia explained that she believed their relationship would change “too much” if she ever knew the truth about Lucifer.

She said: “I love that she doesn’t know because she can say things like, ‘Oh, that’s right you’re the devil. AKA method actor.’

“So, I don’t want to take that fun away from her, especially now that Chloe knows.

“I love when he’s like, ‘You know, my dad, God.’ And Ella can be like, ‘Oh right, your dad, God.’“

Garcia also said that Ella being obvious to Lucifer’s true identity provides relief to some of the more serious personal things that Lucifer experiences on Earth.

She said: “I just think it’s so fun that she can rib him as just being an unemployed actor that can’t catch a break and needs a hug.

“And is like this really sensitive guy. I love that he’s one of the most powerful celestial beings in the history of the world and she’s like, ‘He’s really sensitive you guys.’”

In season four, Ella began to have some huge doubts about her life-long belief in God and the afterlife.

However, in the season four finale, Ella appeared to have made peace with her faith, so for her to realise the devil was walking on Earth, this would change everything for her.

Speaking about how Ella would react to Lucifer’s devil face, Garcia said: “I think she would hug him.

“And I think she would just have a lot of questions. I think she would ask if they could go out for a beer and just really clarify some stuff for her.

  • Lucifer season 5 spoilers: Detective Dan takes on huge change

“What I love about her is that she is like a real-life angel. She is not judgemental.

“She gives people the benefit of the doubt, she sees the best in people and so I think in the same way, she would be consistent with that, even with the devil because we have heard her say before ‘the devil was a fallen angel’.

“And she specifically said, ‘If you were ever an angel, even a fallen angel, it means that you can’t possibly be all bad.’ So I think she would be really consistent with that and just have a lot of questions.”

This Morning shut down claims Phillip Schofield will be replaced amid ‘feud’ report

Phillip Schofield, 57, is a regular presenter on This Morning, hosting the proceedings alongside Holly Willoughby, 38, for four days a week. However, it was an interaction with Ruth Langsford, 59, from earlier this year which an article from The Sun was referring to when they published the false reports about a complaint. ITV have since denied any feud had taken place and now, they have confirmed the presenter will not be replaced.

According to The Sun, bosses thought Good Morning Britain star Ben Shephard, 44, would be a possible contender to fill in for Phillip.

The reports state the Ninja Warrior host showed “great chemistry” with Holly whilst presenting alongside her earlier this year.

It continues to say ITV Daytime boss Emma Gormley had her sights on the newscaster if Phillip were ever to leave the hit programme.

However, a spokesperson for the broadcaster denied any speculation of the latter being replaced when approached for comment by

They confirmed the claims were “untrue”, following denial eight ITV presenters had complained about a “toxic” atmosphere on the set.

“It’s deeply disappointing and unfair for Phillip to be the target of this sort of malicious gossip,” a representative told

“Phillip is a much respected broadcaster and colleague and this is absolutely not a description of This Morning that we recognise.”

The reports of a feud with Ruth were exacerbated when a moment resurfaced from April where the host cut off the Loose Woman presenter.

During a crossover link with This Morning’s sister show, Ruth was informing viewers about what was coming up on the show.

However, Phillip had to interject as he and Holly needed to run another link, but it seemed his colleague wasn’t happy.

The panellist seemingly threw down her pen as she said: “Well I only had about two more words to say… don’t worry.”

He told her before Ruth’s reaction: “Guys, we are going to have to jump in there and stop you I’m afraid.

Angry Jeremy Vine viewer hits back at NHS attack ‘This would have happened under Labour!’

Jeremy Vine welcomed Tony Blackburn, James Max and Jemma Forte onto his Channel 5 show this morning to chat about a number of topics. One of the major talking points was whether or not the row over a boy’s hospital treatment cost Boris Johnson viewers’ vote? The Prime Minister refused to look at a photo of a four-year-old lying on a hospital floor, eventually putting the reporter’s phone in his pocket.

One angry viewer slammed the use of the clip to damage the Conservative Party’s campaign as they insisted the NHS would still be in trouble if Labour were running the country.

Storm noted: “Next we’re going to speak to Susan from Hampshire, who says this incident shouldn’t be blamed on any particular party.”

“The incident of the young lad on the floor Susan?” Jeremy asked.

Susan replied: “Good morning. I think that this will have happened if Labour were in charge as well.

  • Corbyn shut down by Minchin as she savages Labour NHS record

“They’re acting as if it was a Tory thing.”

“Yeah, good point,” Jeremy replied. “I suppose the issue, I don’t want to go on about it, maybe tomorrow we’ll forget about it.

“The issue is that Boris Johnson didn’t seem able to say what he probably have should have done, which is to look at the photo and say, ‘That is terrible. I’m on it and by this afternoon I will give you some answers.’

“He couldn’t say that.”

Susan added: “I agree he handled it wrong but I don’t think it was a mobile phone that was put in his hand when it was put in his pocket.”

“He didn’t think it was a phone?” Jeremy asked looking rather puzzled.

Susan confirmed: “No. I think he probably thought it was a picture.”

“There’s a certain weight to a phone, that would not stand up in court Susan,” Jeremy hit back.

The debate comes after Jeremy Corbyn appeared on BBC Breakfast this morning to argue what the Labour Party have planned for the NHS and using the health service as a political football.

Louise Minchin began: “The Royal College of Physicians has also said it doesn’t want the NHS to be used as a political football.

“They’ve also said, and they’ve looked at all the manifestos, the promises that have been made in manifestos are not physically possible. The plans are not credible.”

“Well, I think it has to be a political decision whether we have an NHS, how it’s funded and what political parties decide they are going to do with it if they gain a majority in the next Parliament” Corbyn replied.

“The NHS has to be properly funded and at the moment it isn’t.”

Minchin hit back: “They’re saying the plans are not credible though.”

“Well, I disagree,” Corbyn snapped.

“Our plans are completely credible, we have put forward a spending plan, which I believe will give sufficient resources to the NHS and will also properly fund the maintenance issues.

“And, on a more educational level, the issues surrounding nurse training, doctor training and the funding that goes behind that because we have what, 40,000 nurse vacancies in the NHS, we have buildings crumbling, we have very expensive deals on which some of those places were built and we have privatisation within the NHS, which often doesn’t fit in with the NHS culture.”

Game of Thrones: Melisandre plot hole debunked with Volantis theory?

Game of Thrones viewers witnessed some epic battles in the final season of the show. Perhaps the most dangerous of all the fights was at Winterfell, which saw the armies of Jon Snow (played by Kit Harington) and Deanerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) taking on the forces of the undead, at the behest of the Night King (Vladimir Furdik).

Eventually it was Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) who ended the battle outright, but she received a lot of help from the red with Melisandre (Carice van Houten).

Melisandre arrived to give the blessing of her god to the Dothraki, which engulfed their weapons in flame, and allowed them to deal fatal blows to their foes.

But fans have since been discussing Melisandre’s journey on the show, and how it progressed in season seven to season eight.

Viewers will remember season seven saw the witch disappear from the show, as she explained she needed to set out for Volantis.

READ MORE: Game of Thrones: Jon Snow revealed as Azor Ahai in huge clue everyone missed?

  • Game of Thrones Book 6 George RR Martin: ‘Big news THIS month’

But this was ultimately a strange move, as she eventually returned to Westeros to fight in the battle against the Night King.

Reddit user arthasmenethil0 recently laid it out and said: “In Season seven, she said she has important business in Volantis but she will return to Westeros because she was destined to die there.

“I know they pretty much scrapped this, but what do you think they intended with that scene?”

While the user claims this supposed plot line was “scrapped”, fans of the show have since suggested ways for this disappearance to add to the show’s narrative.

Melisandre’s disappearance occurred until she arrived back in Winterfell, ready to fight the undead.

During this battle she utilised powers she didn’t have before, and fans think her trip to Volantis was used to help bolster her abilities.

One wrote: “My takeaway from the show is that she needed to go back and get the necessary superpowers for The Long Night episode, but who knows.”

It would then make sense for Melisandre to have gotten these new powers from her god in Volantis in exchange for her life.

Shortly after her stint in Winterfell, the spell caster walked into the night and died, ending her legacy with a triumphant final act.

However in the books her work was not yet over, as she was supposed to magically change the appearance of Mance Rayder (Ciaran Hinds).

In the books, Melisandre was responsible for keeping Mance safe from harm after being captured by the Night’s Watch.

The sly witch made Mance look like a sideline character, by the name of Rattleshirt.

  • Game of Thrones: PROOF Jon Snow was Azor Ahai hidden in THREE scenes

In return, she also made Rattleshirt look exactly like Mance, leaving him to get put on the pyre.

Rattleshirt was then killed off, leaving Mance secretly alive, known to no one but Melisandre and Jon Snow.

And while this avenue of secrecy was never explored in the show, could it have happened right under Stannis Baratheon’s (Stephen Dillane) nose?

If so, would Melisandre have gotten away with it after Stannis was killed off?

TV reporter groped by marathon runner during broadcast from race

A TV reporter has hit out at a creepy marathon runner who left her lost for words after groping her live on air.

Alexandrea Bozarjian was assaulted while covering a race in Savannah, Georgia, on Saturday morning for local TV station WSAV.

A man in sunglasses could be seen smirking as he violated the young journalist, who was stunned into momentary silence by the incident.

Bozarjian has since taken to Twitter to hit out at her attacker, saying: ‘To the man who smacked my butt on live TV this morning: You violated, objectified, and embarrassed me.

‘No woman should EVER have to put up with this at work or anywhere!! Do better.’

She wrote the comment above a video shared by another tweeter called Tonya who branded Bozarijan’s attacker a ‘jerk.’

Savannah Police Department said they have since been in touch with Bozarjian, and are waiting to see whether she would like to take formal action against him.

Spokesman Keturah Greene told NBC News: ‘We’ve talked to her about the situation. I can’t discuss it further, but it’s up to Alexandrea on how she wants to handle the situation.

‘All I can say is we have made contact with Alexandrea and we are definitely going to be working with her in any capacity on how she’d like to move forward with this incident.’

A spokesman for Savannah Sports Council, which organizes the city’s marathon, says the groper – who has not been identified – has been banned from all future races.

Strictly 2019: Chris Ramsey to make final in shock twist as former pro speaks out?

Chris Ramsey and Karen Hauer found themselves in the dreaded dance-off last week where they were forced to dance for their survival on BBC the show. So far in the competition the comedian has scored a total of 287 points from the judges, placing him as the least likely star to win the show as all three other couples have scored more than him. But former Strictly Come Dancing professional Camilla Sacre-Dallerup has teased Chris may have what it takes to go all the way.

In an exclusive interview with, Camilla was asked if the professionals can spot which celebrities will do well in the competition.

“Oh, yeah, definitely,” she revealed. “I mean, you can spot immediately if somebody has any sort of experience in moving on a stage.

“Just like awareness about their own body or where they’re not scared of throwing themselves in the deep end.

“Because you can feel self conscious when you start.”

  • Strictly Come Dancing 2019: Kelvin Fletcher won’t win – here’s why

Camilla explained the key to success for celebrities is having the confidence to go for it.

She explained: “If you think people aren’t scared of [being self conscious], if they’re just like, ‘Oh, it’s fine, if I look silly’, [they’ll do well].

“So comedians can be good at that, because they think ’It doesn’t matter if I look silly at first, because I know that I need to get through that so I can then feel confident doing this.’”

“So it’s kind of an attitude thing,” she added.

Does this mean Chris has what it takes to make it to the final and even lift the Glitterball Trophy?

The comedian has thrown himself into every dance and has had a great journey over the course of the show.

In the first week, Chris’ Cha Cha Cha scored 13 points and in week seven, he scored 34 points for his Street/Commercial routine.

The former Strictly professional continued: “You can learn quite a lot from the beginning, when you see them pick up steps and how they’re kind of processing it in their minds.”

Camilla won the BBC show in 2008 with Tom Chambers and she confessed she knew he would go far the very first time she met him.

“When I met my winning partner, Tom,” she began. “I kind of knew from the very first conversation I had with him.

“His mindset was one of a positive one and that was going to be half the battle.”

“He said he would dream of making the final and having that freestyle to dance like Fred Astaire,” she continued.

“I could feel that he was already thinking ahead.

“He was already like coming up with ideas of what he would like to do.”

The ballroom dancer and life coach went on to praise Strictly and revealed why she thinks it’s such a good show.

Camilla added: “This is what I say about strictly, it is very unique that you have everybody who works on the show, whether it’s in costumes, or producer or camera, or they’re at the top of their game, and that’s why it’s so good.”

Camila Sacre-Dallerup’s latest book, It’s Not You, It’s Me: How To Heal Your Relationship with Yourself and Others is avaliable for pre-order.

Strictly Come Dancing 2019 airs tonight on BBC One at 7pm.
